In order not to break the layout of the template, it is good to resize and reduce the width of the image to 400px or less before posting it.</p> <p>I find width of 350px to be ideal for blog post and fits nicely into most WordPress themes' main column.</p> <p>Alternatively, with from WordPress 2.5 onward you can select "Medium Size" or "Thumbnail Size" when you insert the image via Add Media.
